Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Limited, third party auditing body, re-certifies that COMPACT meets requirements of BRC/IoP Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials, Issue 4: February 2011. The certification, re-issued on 13 March 2014, applies to printing, lamination, and slitting of plastic (PE, PP, PET, BOPP, PA Metalized Films), aluminum foil, and paper multilayer laminated flexible packaging.

Passing with the highest Grade ‘A’, the re-audit validates that COMPACT adheres to requirements for ‘High Hygiene Risk Category’ and manufactures flexible packaging safe for direct and indirect food contact. The Dammam-based plant implements a strong quality management system certified by ISO 9001:2008, as well as follows good manufacturing practices, and meets international legal requirements.

Atila Tunaboylu, Lloyd Lead Assessor & Food Sector Coordinator, states,

The assessment demonstrated good levels of experience, knowledge and commitment are in place, and the company succeeded to comply to the targeted FSMS requirements, therefore and as a result of these 2 days surveillance audit in the company and based on the results obtained, the overall outcome found satisfactory, and the BRC certification validity is recommended.

Tunaboylu goes on to discus COMPACT’s system effectiveness and continual improvement:

The assessment reveals effective implementation of the applied systems, demonstrated by the limited number of complaints and/or non conformities resulted from external and internal audits.

The applied system was able to minimize business risks and support business objectives. Generating appropriate and reliable data to enable fact based decision making approach which found implemented in a satisfactory manner.

High level of top management and food safety team commitment towards system implementation was noticed during this visit.

Continual improvement was obvious and demonstrated by number of projects and tools used in driving permanent development and achieving objectives. Several KPI’s were achieved or under process based on the use and analysis of data and other system outcomes.
