The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the excessive use of single-use plastic bottles in Saudi Arabia and promote the 4Rs (Replace, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to combat plastic pollution. The objective of the campaign is to inform the public about the risks associated with plastic pollution, educate them on how to make a positive contribution in preventing plastic pollution, and engage private sector businesses to commit to reducing plastic waste and adopting sustainable waste management practices.

The campaign will be held in five key locations in Saudi Arabia, starting with the Corniche area in Jeddah, then moving to Tahlya Street in Riyadh, and Khobar Corniche in the Eastern Province. The campaign will feature different structures and visuals to convey its message, such as a structure representing the globe and the impact of plastic bottle waste, along with six recycling bins representing different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The bins will be placed around the landmarks to collect plastic bottles and showcase the importance of proper waste disposal and recycling in achieving the SDGs.

Employees are invited to participate in the campaign by signing a pledge to stop plastic bottle waste, which can be done by scanning a QR code on posters distributed alongside the campaign’s locations. They will also receive canvas bags to collect plastic bottles in their office spaces, and once the bags are full, the bottles will be collected and sent for recycling. The campaign also includes community engagement activities, such as creating a green wall by planting seeds in hanging plastic bottles and involving the community in the construction of a pergola made of plastic bottles.

Overall, the campaign aims to create awareness, educate the public, engage businesses, and encourage individuals to take action in reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices. Napco National’s sponsorship demonstrates their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
